Low level laser therapy otherwise known as photobiomodulation or Cold laser is a non-invasive, drug free therapy that uses laser/LED light to interact with damaged cells in the body to promote tissue healing and reduce pain and inflammation.
There are currently no known side effects of Cold laser therapy when used appropriately, allowing it to be used on patients of all ages for neck pain, back pain, sports injuries, repetitive strain injuries, sciatica and other musculoskeletal inflammatory issues.
It works by administering specific wavelengths of light over the injured area of the body. The damaged cells react with the light and convert it into usable energy, similar to photosynthesis in plants. This energy (ATP) helps the cells reduce their oxidative stress and thus function better by improving their healing response.
